Any fault in a circuit that causes current to flow is called a disturbance in the electric power distribution system. Disturbance can cause major damage to the electric power system, for this it is necessary to need equipment. In this case I chose distance relay and overcurrent relay to be used in this research. Research is conducted to see whether the entire system is properly protected or not.
To get the right setting, the time coordination between the distance relay as the main protection and the overcurrent relay as a backup protection on the transmission line must be set. The trip time between relays must comply with transmission protection standards. Distance relay as the main safety has a working time that is faster or smaller than the OCR working time.
Relay setting coordination will work when a fault occurs. In this case the 75% and 90% points on the channel are selected as the interference points. The distance relay works when the short circuit current is at point
75% of 5859.3878 A, where the distance relay in zone 1 will work instantaneously (0 seconds) at the point of 90% of 4882.8232 A, where the distance relay in zone 2 will work instantaneously (0 seconds). With an impedance value at 75% of 1.92711 + j12.65407 with an OCR setting value of 0.63 seconds, at 90% point of 2.31253 + j15.18489 with an OCR setting value of 0.65 seconds.
