Robotics has become increasingly vital in the advancement of modern technology. In this context, surveillance robots have garnered growing attention due to their potential applications, such as security monitoring, environmental surveillance, and exploration. Therefore, this research aims to design and build a remote-controlled surveillance robot via Wi-Fi connection. Utilizing the ESP32-CAM platform as the main controller and the L298N Motor Driver to operate the drive motors, this study presents a reliable and efficient solution for surveillance robot applications. The surveillance robot constructed in this research adopts a modern technological approach. The camera integrated with the ESP32-CAM captures images and real-time video accessible via Wi-Fi connection. Remote control system is implemented using WebSocket technology, enabling users to operate the robot through devices connected to the same network. Testing is conducted to validate the robot's performance in various aspects, including Wi-Fi connection stability, remote control responsiveness, image and video quality produced by the camera, as well as overall system stability and security. Test results demonstrate that the surveillance robot has been well-designed and constructed. It operates stably and reliably in various situations. Thus, this research contributes significantly to the development of robotic technology, particularly in the context of surveillance and monitoring using ESP32-CAM-based surveillance robots and remote control via Wi-Fi. Additionally, the findings provide a foundation for further research in advancing features and functionalities of surveillance robots in the future.
