Abstract

Electrical energy is one of the most important factors for the development of a region's development. The proper use of electrical energy will be a capital in stimulating the economic growth of the community. Micro hydro power plant (PLTMH) is a small-scale power plant that is generally built in places that are not touched by the electricity network but the area has sufficient water potential to generate electrical energy. This study aims to determine the flow of water and determine the potential power generated.

In completing this final project there is a method for data processing, namely the literature method and then data collection by conducting field observations. The MHP planning location is in Wambena village, Depapre district, Jayapura district, which consists of 75 families with a population of about ± 200,000 people (2020 survey).

With the measurement data, the Microhydro Power Plant on the Saumabu river is able to generate power of = 84.084 KW, Pinput = 63.063 KW, Potput = 53.603 KW. So that the energy produced for 1 day (24 hours) is: E = 1,286.47 kWh/day.
