Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of uprating conductors from AAAC to AAACS on voltage drop and power loss in the Mawan feeder of PT. PLN (Persero) in the P2B UP3 Merauke ULP Tanah Merah region. The methodology used includes calculations with existing formulas and simulations using ETAP 16.0.0. The results are then analyzed for the impact of conductor uprating. The results show that before the uprating, the highest voltage drop recorded was 74.97289 Volts (bus7), while the lowest bus voltage was 19,590.12 Volts (98.45%) at bus39. After uprating, the largest voltage drop decreased to 46.815 Volts (bus7), and the voltage quality at the end of the line (bus39) improved from 98.43% to 99.04%. The uprating of conductors also reduced total real power loss by 52.65% and reactive power loss by 6.63%. This improvement is attributed to the lower impedance values (R and X) of the 150 mm² AAACS conductors compared to the 70 mm² AACS conductors.
