Fiber Optic Communication Network is an ideal transmission with little
transmission loss, interference, and the potential for a slightly slow network at
an ODP port to the customer. In a fiber optic communication system, we cannot
escape the attention of attenuation, strengthening (power budget), so there is a
need for a study of power budget analysis and margin standardization.
The research method is a literature study and data collection in the field by
observing and measuring the port ODP to customers and then analyzing the
data. The research results show that from the results of the power budget
calculation, the fiber optic communication network with network attenuation
from the ODP/port to the customer gives an output value of 18.17dBm while
the output is 21.09 dBm, which means it meets the standards given, namely 14
to 14.09 dBm. 22dBm, while the standardization margin system provides the
lowest value of 37.15 dB to 37.85 dB, which means <38 dB already meets the
set standards. From the results of the calculation analysis, it is recommended
that maintenance and repairs are needed, especially on ODP-SNI-F04/202 and
F04/21, attenuation from the port to the customer on a regular basis, so that
consumers and network system usage is metoptimally.
